NaNoWriMo

So apparently it's NaNoWriMo which, for those of you who have no idea what the hell I'm talking about, is National Novel Writing Month. Who knew there was such a thing?

All kinds of people. I'd heard it so much that I finally googled it.

Basically, all the writers of the world (?) professional and aspiring write a 50,000 word novel just for a challenge. Deadline is November 30 at midnight. Just to give you an idea, the average novel is around 100,000 words.

Sounds like fun. I write only as a hobby (and I guard my writing viciously, people rarely read it--the most anyone has read my stuff was when I took a creative writing class last year [loved it!]) I might even be tempted to try it but it's already the 8th, almost the 9th, and 50,000 words is a tall order, and I'm kind of a sissy.

But still. Totally awesome idea.
